My answer to Does Daenerys or Viserys know that her/his great-great uncle Maester Aemon is alive, and does he know …
Answer by Ava Monroe:
Targaryens were once widely known to be able to communicate across far distances however Maester Aemon’s final days in the books seems to suggest the cold of the Wall acted as a block for Targaryen telepathy.
A Targaryen deep in the cold climates is cut-off from accessing other Targaryens, which could prove to be an interesting tid bit.
It is curious Maester Aemon dreams of Daenerys and dragons galore after leaving the coldness of the Wall. In the books Maester Aemon becomes aware of Daenerys only after leaving the Wall when he is travelling by ship with Sam, Gilley and the baby, although he passes not long after. He does comment the cold helps temper the fire and is likely the reason he lived so long, and it is the lack of cold that is likely the reason he dies so soon after entering warmer weather.
I can not recall anything to suggest either Daenerys or Viserys knew Maester Aemon Targaryen was still alive, or if they did, he wasn't a big topic or interest of theirs.
Thanks for the A2A 🙂
